First Due Fire - 707 Box

September 30, 2005 - At 1935 Stations 7, 2, 6, and 3 were dispatched to the
5100 block of Kings Road for a shed fire. While units were en-route,
Lieutenant 7 advised Calvert that he was on location, side A with a 15' X 25'
shed fully involved with extension to a gazebo and a 3 story house.  Engine 71 and Engine 21 arrived seconds apart and both laid supply lines with Engine 21's being in the fire driveway E-71's line in the neighbors driveway.  The crew from E-71 pulled a 1 3/4 cross-lay and began to extinguish the fire
from the outside while E-21's crew took a line up to the attic area. Squad 7
arrived on location and the crew was sent to the attic area to check for extensions using the thermal imager. With not much extension shown, the crew stayed in the attic and and monitored the conditions while moving the contents of the attic away from the area of were the
fire was on the outside of the house. Due to dual exposures and water supply issues, Lieutenant 7 called for a second alarm which brought units from Station 1 as well as Charles Stations 5 and 2.  After extinguishment, units waited on scene until the arrival of the fire marshal before performing overhaul. All units cleared 3 1/2 hours later.
