Squad Runs One Over the Guardrail with Entrapment

August 29, 2005 - On Monday afternoon, Station's 2 and 7 along with EMS Station 4 and the Medic Unit were dispatched to Route 4 infront of Station 4 for an auto accident involving an overturned vehicle.  Squad 2 arrived on location to find a vehicle which went over a guardrail and came to rest in the woods.  Further investigation revealed that one subject was trapped in the vehicle.  Squad 2 removed the driver's side door to gain access to the patient.  Once the door was removed, crews from Squad 2, Squad 7, and Engine 21 helped move the patient on the backboard and into a stokes basket in which the patient was carried up the hill.  The patient was loaded on Ambulance 48 and transported to CMH priority 2 with non-life threatening injuries.
