Motor Vehicle Collision

March 27, 2009 at 1734 Company 7 units were alerted to a motor vehicle collision at Route 4 and
Parran Road.  Companies 2, 4 & 3 responded as well because dispatch reported the collision to be
serious in nature. Engine 72 (J. Koehn), Ambulance 79 (EMS Lt. J. Schooley), Ambulance 78 (EMS
Sgt. S. Seckens), Command 7 (J. Ogden) and Car 7 (Lt. J. Gryskewicz) responded.  Engine 72,
Ambulance 79 and Car 7 arrived on location to find a truck which had rolled multiple times down an
embankment south of Ball Road and Route 4.  Lt. J. Gryskewicz established command and placed
remaining responding units in service.  Engine 72 secured potential hazards and assisted ambulance
crew in patient packaging.  Single patient transported priority 2 by Ambulance 79 to Calvert Memorial  
Hospital.
Overturned Truck

April 6, 2009 at 707 companies 7, 2 and 3 were alerted to Route 4 and Parran Rd. for a motor
vehicle crash involving a truck hauling a bob cat. Units responding from company 7, Ambulance
78 (Emt Alexa Wallmark), Eng 72 (FF Jacob Ogden) and Chief 7B (Jen Lankford), Arrived on
location to find the overturned truck with no entrapment, Eng 72 took command holding the box
with company 7 units only. Ambulance 78 received a signed refusal form from the patient as Eng
72 stabilized the scene. Units cleared at 0739 hours.
Injured Firefighter

Our thoughts and prayers are with FF/EMT Daniel
McGown of the PGFD, who was critically injured this
morning while battling a house fire on Herrington Dr. in
Prince Georges County, MD. He is in critical condition at
the MedStar Burn Unit. We will update his condition as it
becomes available to us. Please continue to keep him in
your thoughts and prayers.
Passing of Chief Charles Clough, Jr., Sudlersville Fire Comapny

The Officers and Members of the Saint Leonard Volunteer Fire and Rescue, sends their sincerest
sympathy to the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company and the family and friends of Chief Charles Clough,
Jr.   Chief Clough, 41, was responding to an alarm at approximately 7:45 PM on April 15th when he was
involved in a single vehicle collision.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. Clough was a Life Member
of Sudlersville Fire company and held numerous offices over his 26 year career with Sudlersville Fire  
Company.  He is survived by his wife Sandy and their two sons Shane and Chase, his parents Charles Sr.
and Beulah Clough, and a sister, Charlene.   Please keep the Clough family and the Sudlersville Volunteer
Fire Company in your thoughts and prayers.

4/17/09 at approximately 1850 hours, companies 7 and 3 units were alerted to a serious automobile crash north of
White Sands Dr. and Route 4 in the south bound lane. Ambulance 79(EMS Lt. J.Schooley), 78(Emt R.Hannigan,
Engine 72(Res. Lt. B.Lankford), and Car 7(Safety 7 B.Lankford) arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle that had
rolled over multiple times with one ejection, resting on the side of the road way with no entrapment.  Safety 7
established command holding station 7 units only; ambulance 79 and 78 preformed patient packaging while engine
72 stabilized the scene and assisted the ambulance crews. Ambulance 79 flew one of the patients as 78 transported
two patients to Calvert Memorial Hospital. Units worked on the scene for approximately 1 and a half hours.
Motor Vehicle Collision

4/18/09 at 0101 hours companies 7, 4, and 2 were alerted to Long Beach Rd. for a reported single vehicle crash.
Ambulance 79(Emt A.Wallmark), Eng. 72(FF J.Ogden), Car 7(Safety 7 Bill Lankford, Lt. Brent Lankford) and Utility 7(Lt.
M.Richman) responded to find a single vehicle into a tree, having only one patient with no entrapment.  Eng. 72
established command holding the scene with company 7 units only, 79 transported one patient to cmh, all crews on
the scene assisted 79 with patient packaging and help clear the scene of any hazards, units operated on the scene
for a half an hour.
Pier Fire

4/28/09 at Approximately 1835 hrs. Zodiac 7 (Lt. Schooley) and Safety Officer  Lankford were alerted for a boat fire at
the Navy Rec Center. The first arriving units immediately called for a Second alarm dispatch due to a Naval Vessel
on fire along with the pier it was docked to.  E-71 (Chief 7a Earnshaw) responded. Crews operated until well after
midnight extinguishing spot fires on the pier.

Car Fire

On May 07 at 1851 engine company 7 was alerted for the car fire. 71 LT and 6 arrived to find car
with engine compartment on fire. 71's crew streched a line and made quick work of the fire.
